My name is Ainhoa Gonzalez and I belong to the International Projects Department at the CARTIF Foundation (www.cartif.es). CARTIF is a research centre located in Spain dedicated to R&D and Innovation transfer activities. At present we are preparing a proposal aimed to the Program: FP7- SUSTAINABLE SURFACE TRANSPORT (SST)-2011-RTD-1 Activity/Area: 7.2.5.2 Competitive surface transport products and services Topic Call: SST.2011.5.2-6 Cost-effective improvement of rail transport infrastructure
Our initiative is about the application of Computational Intelligent techniques to achieve a better level of safety and usability of railways, focusing on elderly rail traffic for both freight and passenger transport. Historical information, expert knowledge and sensorized data will be taken into account to obtain computational models about these infrastructures in order to forecast their evolution and avoid safety problems by an adequate scheduling of maintenance operations.
The goals to be achieved are focused on:
Better safety and usability of these railway infrastructures.
Better life cycle management of infrastructures.
Improvement of customers satisfaction and client service quality.
Avoiding traffic problems.
Improvement serviceability.
Better scheduling of maintenance activities.
To be able to complete the consortium we are looking for organisations from Eastern Europe to fit the following profiles:
Railways Administrators and Manager.
Railways Companies.
Companies with expertise in railways transport infrastructure management.
Companies with expertise in maintenance of railways infrastructures.
Companies with expertise in conservation tasks for any component of railway infrastructure (both mechanical and electrical elements).
