At the beginning of the project, a committee responsible for the coordination and decision making regarding the topics of the project was set up – it then approved the 3-year work programme. Each year, the committee decides on the operative programme. It also has the responsibility to monitor the quality and relevance of accomplished activities.
The yearly operative programme is a basis for a cycle of day-to-day project activities, which is concluded with a yearly conference. The proceedings of the conference are publicly available. Very important outputs of yearly conferences are project ideas, which form a basis for the competition of research consortia for EU or other sources of funding.
The committee defines the yearly topics on the basis of the project coordinator’s suggestions. The selected topics have to correspond to the project priorities, which are:
The committee must also heed the following general topics:
The yearly conferences will foster dialogue and cooperation between all stakeholders, active in the identification of common problems and preparation of comprehensive solutions. In this way, the project seeks to connect experts from universities, organizations, the private sector, as well as from the government and other public bodies. Special attention is also given to the dialogue between all those that are responsible for policy making and legislative processes for the transfer and implementation of solutions in practice, and companies that are the direct recipients of these solutions.
Other, complementary activities that have been defined at the first meeting of the committee will be carried out in line with the conferences (i.e. presentation of research achievements, promotion days for EU calls…).
